Love Hemingway!

I just finished A farewell to arms and I loved the story. The sooner I get my hands on another Earnest Hemingway book the better. Does anyone else like Hemingway?

Me too! Me too! Waving & smiling. And it's a lifelong affair. The Sun Also Rises may be my favorite book of all times. It's a book I go back to, to read a few pages, every now and then. And some of his short stories too. And A Movable Feast. All books I'd never give up or give away. :)

As far as A Farewell To Arms is concerned, I remember seeing the film version with Cary Grant when I was a kid and being so haunted by it, because of Catharine dying, I couldn't sleep for days. Now, there must be some point to those parental guidance ratings. :) I did read the book later, of course. But, have to say, I'm not too crazy about it.

As far as I can tell, TSAR is the origen of that most embarrassing "war wound" (see "The Barefoot Contessa" for a particularly bad example) and for that I think I will always snicker at Earnest.

      But his titles are brilliant.
